2011 GCFP SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

THE LOUISE DIMMICK SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 recipient is Maria E. Cramer of Liverpool. Sponsored by the Susquehanna Garden Club, District V, Maria is a sophomore at Delaware Valley College majoring in Agriculture Sciences. Her GPA is 3.9.

THE MARY ALICE WHEELER SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 is awarded to Clayton David Delancey. Clayton is a high school senior at Greenwood High School with a GPA of 3.8. He will attend Pennsylvania State University to study Wildlife Sciences. He was sponsored by the Penn-Cumberland Garden Club, District IV.

THE CATHERINE H. KENWORTHY SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 winner is Nancy Amelia Kammerer of Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Garden Club, District IV, sponsored Nancy. She is a High School Senior at Gettysburg Area High School with a GPA of 4.0. She will attend Pennsylvania State University to major In Horticulture/Agronomy.

THE LOIS DUPRE’ SHUSTER SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 recipient is Katherine Elizabeth Laughlin of Lewistown. She was sponsored by the Mifflin County Garden Club, District V. Katherine is a Freshman at Penn State with a GPA of 3.71 and is majoring in Agriculture Sciences/Agriculture Advocacy.

THE MARJORIE E. HAMBLIN SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 winner is Samuel Scott Mohr of New Enterprise. Samuel is a Freshman at Pennsylvania State University majoring in Horticulture and has a GPA of 3.92. The Bedford County Garden Club, District VI, sponsored Samuel.

THE EDITH CLEMMER STEINBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 is awarded to Zachary Kiebler of Lincoln University. He is a high school senior at Oxford Area High School with a GPA of 3.88 and plans to major in Agriculture/Landscape Contracting. The Four Seasons Garden Club of Kennett Square, District I, sponsored him.

THE MIRIAM A. STEEL SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 recipient is Autumn Anne Harris of Coal Center. The Mon Valley Garden Club, of District X sponsored Autumn. She is a Junior attending California University of Pennsylvania majoring in Marketing/Environmental. Autumn is also a member 0f The Mon Valley Garden Club. Her GPA is 3.73.

THE KATHERINE L. RIEGER SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00 is awarded to Brianna Jeanette Isenberg of Indiana. The Garden Club of Johnstown, District VI, sponsored Brianna. She is a junior at Pennsylvania State University Majoring in Agricultural Science/Animal Nutrition. Her GPA is 3.86. Brianna is also GCFP’S entry for a National Garden Club Scholarship.

THE CONSTANCE H. SMITH SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,920.00 recipient is Julie Ann D’Agostino. She was sponsored by the Pottstown Area Garden Club, District II/III. Julie is a sophomore at Temple University majoring in Horticulture with a Career Goal of Arborist/Floral Design. Her GPA is 3.95.

THE JANE LAYMAN SCHOLARSHIP OF $1,000.00, a four-year scholarship conditional on maintaining a 3.0 GPA annually, will again be awarded to Samuel Marquette Bond of Kempton. Sam is a junior at Penn State University majoring in Agriculture Sciences/Horticulture for the third year of his four year scholarship. Sam’s GPA is 3.0. The Emmaus Garden Club, District II/III, sponsored him.
