How to use Interactive Forms on the

GCFP Web Site

Every computer has Adobe Reader (PDF) software installed on it at the factory. However, each of us needs to up date our software on a regular basis. The Forms on the GCFP web site are prepared for use with Adobe Reader Versions 8 or Later. If you are using Version 5, 6, or 7 on your computer, the forms and files won’t work. It’s time to update.

Fortunately, Adobe Reader is a FREE program/software.

Go to the Adobe web site, using the following link:

http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

There are a Version for Windows (PCs) Operating Systems and a Version for Mac (Apple) Operating Systems. Just follow the directions, and you will soon be running Adobe Reader X on your computer. Then the forms and files will work like a charm.

Now that you have an up-to-date version of Adobe Reader, how do you navigate your way through an interactive form?

1. Click on the form you wish to use

2. It will open with the areas that may be filled in highlighted in light blue

3. Place the Curser on the first area you want to type in and Click on it

4. Type in the information

5. Use the Tab key to move to the next space--Tab key moves you forward

6. If you need to go back—Place the Curser on that space and Click on it

7. If you need to change information—Place the Curser at the end of the information, use the Delete key, then retype the correct information

8. When you reach the end of the page, print TWO copies, one to mail, and one for your records.

The FREE Adobe Reader DOESN’T let you to save the information you type into a form on your computer.

All of the CAR & NGC Forms are links to the CAR & NGC websites. You will then be using their website, not the GCFP website.

CAR Awards Application must be copied from their page, then pasted onto a Word document, then saved.

• You highlight the print you want to copy

• click on Copy

• open Word

• move your curser to the first point on the blank document

• click on Paste

• Then you can fill it in and save it, or print it.
