The majority of these schools are four or five courses of study in two and three-day sessions held about six months a part. Symposiums are held at least every three years for some schools so members can maintain their accreditation and can keep abreast of the latest developments.

All lectures are open to the public for a stated fee. To be eligible to take any of these courses of study for accreditation by the National Garden Clubs, Inc., one must be a member of a State Garden Club. In any curriculum, all courses must be successfully passed with a grade of 70 or above for an individual to become accredited. Non-garden club members will be given a Certificate of Attendance by National Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (no exam is required).
