Did you know that Operation Wildflower offers Grants of up to $500.00, and National Garden Club Awards of up to $1,000.00 for eligible programs and projects?
OPERATION WILDFLOWER GRANTS may be awarded to regions, states, districts, and clubs that sponsor or co-sponsor educational programs, seminars or symposia on native flora and/or wildflowers. The NGC Wildflower Chairman must approve the project at least two months in advance. An outline of the program listing speakers, subjects, proposed budget, etc., must be submitted. If approved the information is forwarded to NGC for final approval, and then half of the requested grant is sent to the applicant. After the program has taken place, two brochures, and a short report must be sent to the NGC Wildflower Chairman. If merited, the remaining funds will be remitted.

The GCFP Liability Insurance policy provides liability coverage for GCFP club members engaged in garden club activities in a fixed location, such as a meeting place. GCFP Club members would also be covered on club meeting bus trips to a fixed location, such as a conservatory. To eliminate "frivolous claims" underwriters have insisted upon a deductible of $500. The policy does not cover club sponsored special events involving the general public. The liability coverage is provided at no additional cost to the clubs. All claims will be sent to the Liability Insurance Chairman and reviewed by the GCFP Executive Committee before being sent to the Insurance Company. Clubs must have achieved "good standing" by paying all their dues, including new member pro-rated dues, to the Federation in a timely manner and prior to established deadlines, to be eligible for liability coverage.
Clubs requiring a certificate of proof of insurance for the facility they use may contact our GCFP Liability Insurance Chairman. Clubs should provide the necessary information about the club and the facility, including the location, to the Liability Chairman so that a certificate can be completed and mailed to the club.
NGC does provide "special event" insurance through a private firm. Go to www.rvnuccio.com. In the Navigation Bar, click on "Special Event” then click on "Non-profit Organization", then click on "Garden Club".

The Children’s Peace Garden is located at the Flight 93, Memorial Chapel in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It is the only official memorial to the 9/11 terrorist attacks against our nation. The garden started with the planting of two American Liberty Elm trees and a flowering pear tree. Later a wooden fence was purchased which encloses the entire garden. Tidying up and weeding is carried out by local garden clubs to maintain a pleasing appearance. The 5-year-old Children’s Peace Garden project needs the final phase to bring it completion and closure. With the balance of $4000.00 in our kitty for this project, we have found the perfect item to complete this garden. It is the “Companion” a solid bronze sculpture, which will grace the garden and solidify recognition as the Children’s Peace Garden. Purchasing the sculpture and having it installed in a concrete base will cost approximately $6,500. We are short $2,500. In order to complete this project, the GCFP Board gave approval to ask our Garden Clubs and/or members for donations to raise the $2,500.
